Often we don’t look at our health until we have symptoms.
- Sometimes it is mild, like a pulled muscle or a cold.
- Or we suddenly get hit with a major illness
- Or we struggle for years with a chronic illness.
Often we don’t look at our health until we have symptoms.
We can get annoyed or worried about these symptoms and wonder why our bodies are not cooperating with us. We can often look for answers outside of ourselves and forget to consult our own body and experience. When we start to pay attention to our experiences and listen to what our body is trying to tell us, our body is delighted to let us know!
We now know that our body, brain and mind are constantly communicating with each other and are not separate. Just as people communicate with each other in a positive or negative way to deal with information they perceive from other people or events, so our body communicates about the information it receives from the outside and between all of the systems functioning within our body.
It is clearer than ever before from a gathering of scientific research (psychoneuroimmunology, physics, genetics, biology, neuroscience and mind body medicine), that there is a connection between the illnesses we have and the stress experienced in our lives. As well, there is a relationship between what happens in our bodies and what we think, feel, believe, relate and do or not do.
We carry our history in our bodies. As Dr Robert Scaer says, “our bodies bear the burden of the stresses accumulated in our lives”.
Our bodies are smart and adapt to deal with any stressful experience. The body goes through a process of ‘stress and rest’. This can lead to illness and disease without us being consciously aware of how the stressful events are being dealt with by our bodies until we have symptoms.
Our bodies perceive these stresses as unexpected, dramatic, and isolating and for which we have no strategy to deal with it. Meta Health calls this stress event a UDIN.
U – unexpected
D – dramatic
I – isolating
N – no strategy
This UDIN event is picked it up by the heart. This energy of emotion is then communicated to and lodged in the gut. This stressful/traumatic event becomes localized in a specific area the brain that relates to a part of an organ embryonically. The reaction of the organ (a body symptom) is designed to help a person learn from and solve the UDIN (Richard Flook, Why Am I Sick?)
In this way, body symptoms can offer helpful and healing information.
You can help your body to heal itself by addressing your unique stresses and traumas. Stress and trauma has accompanying thoughts, feelings, beliefs and patterns of relating that may get in the way of your body returning to a state of health and well-being. You can also learn what stops you from doing actions that contribute to your health such as exercise, eating well, relaxing and developing positive caring relationships.
Energy techniques I use, among other tools, are Emotional Freedom Techniques, Meta Health and Advanced Clearing Energetics. I also use techniques to help you with relationship patterns that are holding you back from living a vibrant and health filled life.

Has your relationship become more of a challenge than you thought it would be when your relationship was shiny and new?
It is normal and natural for a relationship go through good times and bad with many ups and downs. As you probably now know very well, this makes a relationship less than easy. In fact it can be downright messy and a bumpy ride at times!
You may be asking “why is my relationship so hard and what can I do to change what is happening?”
To any relationship, we each bring the energy of our unique hopes and fears. These unique hopes and fears are created through all of our experiences as well as those passed down energetically through the generations. Often these are invisible to us. We carry these invisible and visible hopes and fears as positive and negative energy.
Inevitably you are hurt, disappointed or disillusioned, because no human being, even if they want to, can be aware of and act to fulfill all of our hopes and completely allay our fears. And the fact is your hopes and fears aren’t always visible to you. As well, the person we are in relationship with have their own invisible and visible hopes and fears which may create the stuck energy of hurt, disappointment and disillusionment for them too.
Communication from all of this stuck energy becomes incredibly challenging!
Imagine all of the spoken and unspoken reactions you have when you feel hurt, disappointed or disillusioned. This stuck energy makes for a lot of misunderstanding and misperceptions to fly around! Your relationship and your own health can’t help but be impacted. This can hold you back from achieving the connection you desire.
So you may ask why do I want to even try to be in relationships?
As human beings, we have a biological human need for connection and touch. Relationships and our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health are intricately entwined. Research shows that, when we are in caring positive relationships, our well-being and satisfaction increase. As well, good connection actually keeps our immune and cardiovascular systems healthy. We deal better with stress and recover faster from illness.
So how can we be in a relationship that is pleasurable and fulfilling as well as helps us stay as healthy as possible?
